Paris, March 14, 2025 – Air Similan is taking another step forward in the expansion of its network by announcing the upcoming entry into service of the Airbus A319-100. Two aircraft have already joined the fleet out of the three planned, marking a strategic advancement for the airline. The first commercial flight of Air Similan’s A319 is scheduled for Friday, April 4.

This new aircraft, designed to provide enhanced operational flexibility, will be gradually integrated into Air Similan’s operations. It will initially be deployed on several regional routes from Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), including Bâle-Mulhouse (BSL), Biarritz (BIQ), Brest (BES), Montpellier (MPL), Nantes (NTE), and Rennes (RNS).

Furthermore, starting Monday, April 7, Air Similan’s Airbus A319 will also serve Florence (FLR) from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, marking a historic first for the airline on this route. Air Similan has implemented a specific qualification system for the A319. To be eligible to operate this aircraft, pilots must hold an Airbus A320 qualification. An additional A319-specific qualification will also be required. This supplementary qualification is already available for purchase on Air Similan’s Intranet, allowing pilots eager to fly the A319 to prepare ahead of the official launch.
