Air Similan revolutionizes its operations with a new, innovative intranet

Paris, October 25, 2024 – Since its inception in May 2020, Air Similan has consistently strived to provide its pilots with the most advanced tools, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Today, after over a year of intensive development, the airline is proud to unveil its revolutionary new intranet, designed to meet the growing demands of its operations and offer an unparalleled user experience.

The previous system, based on Virtual Airlines Manager (VAM), while functional, had notable limitations in security, reliability, and flexibility. Facing these challenges, Air Similan embarked on creating a brand-new intranet that surpasses current standards and meets the specific needs of its pilots.

A complete intranet redesign

Air Similan’s new intranet showcases a full redesign of the user interface and experience, introducing an innovative navigation mode and a host of new features.

Among the major advancements, the reservations system has been completely reimagined. Booking flights is now more straightforward and detailed, featuring a comprehensive briefing system developed through a collaboration between Air Similan and SimBrief. This briefing provides in-depth information on departure and arrival airports, with precise suggestions based on ATIS and IVAO data. Additionally, the new intranet allows for the automatic import of flight plans into IVAO in the background, an innovation made possible by Air Similan's partnership with IVAO.

Pireps have also been revamped, featuring a semi-automated validation aid system that allows for the allocation of penalties or bonus Miles based on pilot performance. This feature aims to enhance the accuracy and fairness of flight evaluations.

Other key sections of the intranet have been thoroughly revised, including dedicated pages for the fleet, aircraft, airports, routes, pilots, and qualification management.

To support these new features, a comprehensive "Documentation" section has been established, offering detailed guides to help pilots navigate the new platform. This documentation covers all aspects of the intranet, from completing the first flight to managing Points and Miles.

Optimal accessibility

Additionally, the intranet is now fully responsive, ensuring smooth use across all devices, including smartphones and tablets.

Pilots can also select between light and dark modes, depending on their preferences, for an optimal browsing experience.

Ongoing evolution

This evolution marks a major step forward for Air Similan, but it is only the beginning. New features will continue to be added in the weeks and months to come, continuously enriching the user experience. In collaboration with renowned partners such as Navigraph and IVAO, Air Similan remains committed to offering its pilots an immersive and realistic flying experience.
